Nice read this, as I'm in the market for something similar. I think you'll find that the Silverstone LC19 has an inferior (external) PSU, only managing 120W. In addition, the case is so low-profile, that you'll have problems finding a cooler that fits. (All depending on you hardware of choice of course...) They recommend Mobile components because of the two things mentioned above.

The Lian Li case is fantastic, but I'd personally prefer the PC-C36B over the PC-C37B, as it has a more minimalistic front, and since it already comes with (what is mentioned as a really quiet) 300W PSU. Lian Li's build quality is REALLY good, and the finish of the case in general is about as good as it gets. All at a (fairly) low price.

Yes, this should be possible. I'm not familiar with the form factor of the new solid state drives, but I have a small notebook drive in my hand with the cover removed from my HTPC and I see a lot of places that I could fit the notebook drive. Remember though that I have most of my cables hidden in the unused drive bay located under the optical drive (I’m only using one HD). For me, an idea place would be between the PSU and optical drive as you suggested, but if you’re utilizing that drive bay then cable management will be more difficult and this open area may be consumed by excess PSU cables like shown here:

Another good location may be behind the power switch. In the lower right corner of this picture there’s a nice opening between the side of the case fan and behind the power switch PC board. Of course you’ll have to mod some kind of simple mounting bracket (or the Velcro idea):

Yours is the only blog I've come across detailing a build with this case, so thanks for that.

I am toying with the idea of buyingthis case to shift my current HTPC into. Curious as to whether you think there is any s pace to place a 2.5" solid sate disk as a boot drive in addition to the 2 HDD already in place. I have read somewhere of a modder using double sided sticky velcro to mount the drive. In between psu and HDD/optical cage looks possible as does between the HDD/card reader bay and optical drive, or even between hdd cage and side wall next to the fan.

Any suggestions or thoughts?

I came across this site too while researching these cases but dismissed it since the site looked incomplete and questionable. I’ll take another look. Thanks for sharing the info!

Things were silent until I put the cover back on the case. Because the cover’s underside is almost flush with the top of the Zalman cooler, it causes noticeable wind noise. I dialed down the Zalman fan to the lowest setting and the noise is now minimal but I’ll have to keep an eye on the CPU temp to see how much it changes. I’m loving the Samsung hard drive – it’s the quietest drive I have ever used and the LG optical drive is surprisingly quiet too. I’m very happy with the whole package so far!
